HOW TO DREAM

When you dream, dream BIG!
As cliche as this sounds, it is very necessary and true. I was privileged to listen to Mr Kweku Flemming of Stanford Seed speak this Saturday on the concept of brainstorming and generating ideas.
Here is a story he shared:
A company had problems with their workers who wrapped the end products with old news papers and magazines. The workers always spent more time reading the papers than wrapping the products. Naturally production was low and so the management met to brainstorm on how to curb the problem. Among the many ideas was one absurd one to poke out the eyes of the workers so that they could no longer read. Silly as it was, all the ideas were forwarded to board and they decided from that crazy idea to hire blind people who could not see in the first place to wrap their products. And it WORKED! Production soared and that crazy idea became a winner.
So the lesson learned? There is no good or bad idea or dream. And never edit yourself at the brainstorming stage of your dream. Many other lessons I learned were that you always have to take regular time to dream and brainstorm. Also dream as if you cannot fail and always value other people and societies for they may make your dreams a reality.
Always remember that there are a thousand and one solutions to a problem but YOU HAVE TO PICK THE RIGHT ONE.

So when you dream, dream as big as you can so that it startles you. DREAM BIG!
